Yes, and what is needed also is a good bus connection to Aachen. The airport is called Maastricht/Aachen Airport, but the public transport from/to Aachen is crap with almost 2:00hrs traveling time.

There isn't even a 'good' connexxion to maastricht  A direct train from Cologne/Aachen to Maastricht would also be nice(because of the Cologne hub).

Too bad that the announced routes are connecting flights.. A flight to Munich will give the same idea, but then for the routes to the southern part of Europe so fingers crossed..

I'm curious about Ryanair and their actions.. Let's hope it will be quick!

By Public Transport you will be faster at Cologne/Bonn Airport than at Maastricht/Aachen Airport from Aachen Central Station.....

Aachen Central Station - Maastricht/Aachen Airport
Depart: 8:45
Arrival: 10:37
Time: 1:52
Price: 7,02 €

Aachen Central Station - Cologne/Bonn Airport
Depart: 09:14
Arrival: 10:35
Time: 1:21
Price: 14,80 €

So there is a big need of a better connection to the airport.....

Germanwings doesn't have a base at Munich. The Germanwings bases are:
Berlin Schönefeld Airport
Cologne Bonn Airport
Dortmund Airport
Hannover Airport
Stuttgart Airport

There used to be a direct bus connection between the airport and Aachen when easyJet was flying MST-SXF, probably this will be re-instated when Germanwings starts.

At the moment you must change the bus at Maastricht Train Station, 9 min waiting time. If the bus goes direct to the airport like a few years ago you will save 9 minutes to and drive 1:40. So to Cologne will be even faster.

Maybe there will be a private Bus company who offer direct transfer between Aachen and Maastricht Airport by Motorway than you could reach the airport by approximate 50 min.

That's what I meant. These busses were scheduled with regard to the easyJet flights, so not via Maastricht city.

Good News, from June, 1 there will be a direct bus connection from Aachen Main Station to MST. Three times a day.
